1. How does this work? Questions about love? Money? Your future?

    Getting connected is easy!

    1. First, go to Registration and create an account. Once you have an account you will be able to add credit to it and use that credit whenever you like.
    2. Next, Browse our PhoneFate Host listings and choose an available Host which appeals to you. Click the "Call" button on the listing you have selected.
    3. The PhoneFate system immediately connects you and the Host by phone. Talk for as long as you like. The Host's per minute rate will be automatically deducted from your PhoneFate account balance. You can add more credit to your PhoneFate account at any time you desire.

    Gain insight into your past, present, and future... PhoneFate connects the call end-to-end in a double-blind fashion. Your telephone number is NEVER revealed, thereby ensuring your security and privacy.

2. What do the different buttons and icons mean?

    ( Call Me Now ) The Host is available to talk to you on the phone. Click this button to speak with them.
    ( Available with LiveCam! ) The Host is available to talk to you on the phone and also has a LiveCam so you can see them live and real-time!
    ( On the Phone - arrange a call ) The Host is currently on the phone.
    ( Unavailable ) The Host is currently not available.
    ( Listen Now ) A pre-recorded audio session which is available for you to listen to on the phone.
    ( Voice Sample ) This icon indicates that the Host has a Voice Sample available which you can listen to free of charge simply by clicking the icon on their listing.
    ( LiveCam ) This icon indicates that the Host has a LiveCam so you will see them live on your computer while you talk to them on the phone!


3. What currency are the per minute rates billed in?

    All billing is handled in US Dollars.


4. What if I only have one phone line?

    When you initiate a call with a Host the PhoneFate call connection system will try and call you right away. If you do not answer it will try again 1 minute later. And finally, if that call goes unanswered it will try again 1 minute later. After that it gives up. This ensures you will have a few minutes to disconnect from the internet.

    You will not be able to view any LiveCam streams if you only have one phone line but you can talk to any of the Hosts on the phone.


5. What do I need to view LiveCam streams?

    You will need the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer. When your call is connected simply stay on the page you are taken to, inform the Host you are waiting for their LiveCam stream to start and you should start seeing it in less than a minute. If you do not see it in less than a minute, then either you or the Host may be having a technical problem and you may wish to hang-up.

    Note: LiveCam feeds can not be viewed if you are connecting via the toll-free number.


6. What does the 'Score' mean and how is it calculated?

    The Host score is simply another piece of information you can use to decide who you would like to talk to.

    A Host earns points by getting good feedback from people like you that have talked with them on the phone. The Host loses points when they get bad feedback or when they don't answer their calls.

    But, don't discount a Host simply because they have a low score. It could just be that they are a new Host and havn't had a lot of callers yet.


7. How do I leave Feedback for the Host(s) I have called?

    Log into your account, click "My Account" on the menu at the bottom of the page, then choose "Call History". All calls you have made within the last 7 days will be shown. You can leave feedback for any eligible calls.


8. I lost my PIN Number, how can I get it back?

    Click here to access the PIN Number recovery tool.

9. What fees are involved? When does my credit card get billed?

    There are no signup fees, no monthly fees, and no hidden fees of any kind. The only fee you ever pay is the per minute rate of the Host you are calling. The only time your credit card is ever billed is when you choose to add credit to your PhoneFate account. If you choose to add $10 credit, you will be billed for $10 credit.


10. What do charges show up on my credit card statement (or phone bill) as?

    When paying by credit card, charges show up on your credit card statement as .

    When paying by 900 billing, charges show up on your phone bill as "Personals".


11. How do I change the credit card details I'm using on my account?

    You can't. If you'd like to use a different card you will need to start a new account.


12. How do I cancel my account?

    Just contact support and ask. Also, for your protection your account will be closed automatically if it has not been used for a period of nine consecutive months.
